Indeed.

Today, while my back was turned, Miles raided the "no-touch" bookshelf. I found him sitting on the floor "reading" John Owen's Sin and Temptation. How appropriate.

Helping Momma

He got up there himself, and proceeded to unload the clean silverware onto the floor. Oh, and by way of explanation, the outfit was the only combination of clean clothes left after our last trip to Missoula...

Miles on the Stock Market

"Wow. Look at these headlines!"

"It's simple, really. It's all this man's fault."

"You're not taking this very seriously, Mom."

That's What I Like About Texas...

Over Labor Day weekend Miles was initiated into several of the more sacred aspects of Texas culture. First stop, Smitty's Market in Lockhart for BBQ smoked like this:

and served like this (and yes, Miles had a taste):
we finished off with some Blue Bell Butter Pecan ice cream...
Next: Cabela's (after a roadside cotton-pickin' stop). Miles LOVED the aquarium--the fish made him laugh out loud several times.
Miles did a little shopping, and picked out "The Montana Assortment" of flies:Finally, we visited the gun library.
and of course, we sang "The Eyes of Texas" all the way home. OK, just kidding on that one.

Score

So the other day I found this changing table:

(Pottery Barn Kids, $299)

at a resale shop for $35. I do believe that takes the cake for my thrift store finds.
